Halton Haven Hospice would like to invite the community once again to the Hospice grounds for their annual remembrance service and lighting of the tree on Friday 1st December.
For many, the evening is a festive tradition and marks the beginning of the Christmas season, with carols performed by Frodsham Silver band, mince pies and Christmas stalls. There will also be a variety of food options available on the evening.
The remembrance service will begin at 7pm offering the chance to reflect and celebrate the lives of loved ones lost, through poignant readings and poems. The end of the evening will be marked through the illumination of the 20ft Christmas tree, with each sparkling light dedicated to the memory of loved ones.
If you would like to make a dedication this year, there are several options available to remember loved ones:
• Dedicate a Light on the Tree – The lights will remain lit on the 20ft tree in the Hospice grounds until 12th night sparkling in memory of loved ones lost.
• Dedicate a Light on the Virtual Tree at: https://visufund.com/lual2023
• Dedicate a personal tree – A limited number of individual 5ft trees are available to dedicate in memory of someone special.
This year the large Hospice tree has been kindly sponsored by Linnets Football club and every donor will receive a commemorative card and a Light Up A Life badge. The event is also a key fundraiser for the Hospice and Elle Smith, Fundraising Manager said: “We know that Christmas can be a difficult time of year if we have lost someone special and so Light up a life is an opportunity to come together at the beginning of the festive period, to remember loved ones who are no longer with us and to reflect on the memories of them. Last year the community raised over £25,000 through Light Up a Life dedications. This funded a specialist nurse to provide the loving care that our patients and their families need and deserve. It would be incredible if the community could show us that same amazing support this year.”
