A Hospice delivers end of life care. Everyone wishes for a ‘good death’ free from pain, in comfort and under their own terms. Palliative care works to achieve those goals in partnership with the patient, their family and a holistic team of professionals.
We understand that no two experiences are the same and that each individual is different. We have the time to get to know people and listen to their needs and wishes, and our care is tailored to every individual, focussing on the things that matter to them. People often find this reassuring, it helps them feel respected and in control.
We also know people often worry that hospices are dark and depressing places but are always pleasantly surprised when they visit us. In fact, patients who stay here or access our services often describe it as a ‘sanctuary’ or ‘home from home’, of which we’re so proud. We have unique charms that make our hospice such a special place, and we put our community and a healthy environment at the centre of our initiatives.
We are proud to offer additional opportunities through our Chaplain and Celebrant who can help honour the love and wishes that a patient might have such as:
