Ward Clerk/Receptionist

The Hospice is seeking to recruit a Ward Clerk

The post holder will work 10am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday.

The successful applicant to this role will be able to provide outstanding administrative support to this busy inpatient unit, with twelve patients rooms, ensuring the ward is run as smoothly as possible.

You will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and friendly Ward Clerk on the Inpatient Unit. You will have previous administrative experience and excellent communication skills to engage with patients and colleagues at all levels, be I.T. literate, be able to prioritise your workload and work under pressure and flexibly to support the clinical team.

You will be the eyes and ears of the ward and must have the resilience and discretion to work in this environment.

Essential Criteria

Excellent Administration experience

Ability to transcribe audio recordings into written documents

Microsoft Word/Excel software

Communication & listening skills, including an excellent telephone manner

Desirable Criteria

Working knowledge of EMIS

Secretarial Training & Qualification

Experience of supporting a nursing/medical team within an inpatient unit
