Tea at Three

Taking place on Sunday 12th August 2018 from 3pm, this wonderful summer event features our annual butterfly release in remembrance of our loved ones. Held in the Hospice grounds, we enjoy live music, tea and refreshments as well as stalls from local exhibitors. The butterfly release is a fantastic way to lend our thoughts to those we hold dear who are no longer with us.

BUTTERFLIES

Butterflies can be purchased for £12 each and will be available to pick up during the event in time for the butterfly release.

Advance butterfly purchases have now closed. There will be very limited number of butterflies available to buy on the day and once they’re gone, they’re gone!

Please bring cash or cheque to pay as we cannot accept card payments.

The butterfly release will take place during Tea at Three at an expected time of approximately 5.20pm (although this time is subject to change). It will coincide with a performance of Gareth Heesom’s stunning song, A Million Butterflies, which was written about our butterfly release.

ENTERTAINMENT

Tea at Three will continue to play host to a selection of music, including live performances from local bands and musician Gareth Heesom playing his incredible charity single A Million Butterflies which was inspired by the butterfly release at Tea at Three.

We are also delighted to confirm that Axel the owl will be at Tea at Three. Axel often visits the Hospice as part of our pet therapy programme, but on 12th August he and his human Anita will be pottering around the event, saying hello and generally being a superb owl.

Widnes Wild Ice Hockey Club will be present on the day, running children’s entertainments and being on hand to chat to anyone interested in ice hockey or the club.

The amazing Party Squad will be offering face painting for all the youngsters (or the young at heart!) whilst the wonderful Sarah Andrews will be doing nails for the grown-ups!

Palacefields Ukulele Group will be in attendance, and we’ll have games on site for children to play.

STALLS

You can expect a range of stalls on the day, with craft items, pet goodies, raffles, cakes, books, Hospice merchandise and carefully selected items from our high street shops.

REFRESHMENTS

You will be able to purchase tea, coffee, squash, sweets, chocolate and other refreshments on the day.

We are thrilled that Cheeky Ice Cream will be in attendance on the day! These local dessert geniuses will be serving up their treats for us all and we cannot wait!

DOGGY MASCOT COMPETITION

In the lead up to Tea at Three, Halton Haven’s CEO Viv Culleton has been running a competition for the dogs of the area! Local dogs have been given the opportunity to act as the Hospice mascot at various events and occasions throughout the year!

A shortlist of six dogs has been created and all will be invited to attend Tea at Three where the winner will be chosen by an independent judge. As well as being the doggy face of the Haven, the winner will receive a gift hamper!

For more information about this competition, please contact Viv on viv.culleton@haltonhaven.co.uk.

The deadline for entries was Friday 27th July 2018.
