Are you up for the Challenge?!

Disappointingly we’ve had to postpone our London to Paris cycle until 2022.  BUT we’re still going out on two wheels to………….the PARIS OF THE NORTH!

Yes, the home of Kiss Me Quick hats, stripy rock and good old seaside fun.  Our challenge will begin from Halton Haven Hospice and travel to the Comedy Carpet opposite Blackpool Tower.  You have a choice of ending your cycle there having completed 65 miles; or you can do the return leg and clock up an amazing 125 miles.  We’ll be waiting for you at the Hospice to celebrate your epic efforts.

Why not join our intrepid pack?  Led by our Patron Paul O’Neill, and his trusty superhero Ross Clark, you’ll be supported throughout the challenge by our Hospice team and it will be FUN!  Trust me – I was there last year on the Morecambe – Runcorn event!

With a bit of training and the support of our Hospice Team this is achievable.  When you sign up we’ll send you a training schedule and we’ll even give you a t-shirt to wear on the day.  There’ll be stops along the way and refreshments to keep you going.  This is part of our PURPLE MONTH celebrations and it’s going to be great!

We’re asking you to pay a registration fee which will support the costs of the cycle and to pledge to raise sponsorship which will help us provide amazing care for those on their final journey with us.  It’s been a tough year and we know that many of our community have lost friends, family and colleagues.  Taking part in this challenge would be an awesome tribute to all those we’ve lost and a great way to get back out there as we put Covid behind us.

We’ll be the first to admit that it’s been tough financially at the Hospice. We’ve got a big hole in the finances this year and we’re looking for help to raise the £1.25 million pounds that we need.  After the last 12 months you can do anything!  So what are you waiting for?

FUN FACT: Blackpool Tower was commissioned by the then Mayor of Blackpool, John Bickerstaffe, after he visited the Great Paris Exhibition in 1889.
