Hopping success this Easter

Throughout March and April 845 children took part in our Hop for the Haven event, fundraising to make a difference. Each Hop for the Haven was unique with hundreds of children popping on bunny ears – some hopping, dancing, singing, or manoeuvring around obstacle courses set by their nursey, school, or community group.

“We loved seeing all the Hop for the Haven events, they were so enjoyable and each one special in its own way. Children of all ages, with participants from child minder groups to primary schools, really took to the spirit of supporting their local Hospice while having fun. Together, everyone involved managed to raise an incredible £11,280 which will go towards providing the best palliative and end-of-life care to people in our community. We couldn’t carry on providing care, compassion, and comfort without our communities support and it is great to see even the youngest in our community enjoying making a difference.

“The Bunny Hop was a fantastic way to start to teach our children from a young age how to value and support such wonderful and local charities like Halton Haven . The children were really excited on the day to join in on our Hop , especially the chocolate bunny treat and certificates at the end.” Hop for the Haven 2026 participating group.

On top of the amazing ‘Hops’ children also had the chance to enter a colouring competition and guess the name of our Hop for the Haven rabbit. We received an incredible 78 entries and our rabbit has spent all week judging the entries. After a long week saying “Wow, I love all the colours and variations!” the winners of the colouring competition are…

We can also reveal that our Hop for the Haven rabbits name is… Daffodil! All winners will be contacted by Halton Haven Hospice to claim their fluffy rabbit teddy prize.
