Day Hospice

The Day Hospice is led by the Day Hospice Team Leader who is responsible for the day to day running of the department, supported by the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), which comprises of a Medical Officer, Registered General Nurse, Senior Healthcare Assistant, Physiotherapist, Family Support and two Complimentary Therapists.  Volunteer’s compliment our team by undertaking many duties such as, driving the hospice transport, arranging and supporting day hospice activities and making refreshments regularly throughout the day.

Our Day Hospice has provision for, and is registered by the Care Quality Commission for a maximum of 12 patients per day. The places are allocated to patients referred with specialist palliative care needs identified by the initial referrer.

Day Hospice operates Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, opened for structured therapy between 10.00 – 15.00 HRS. On a Tuesday afternoon, we operate a Consultant led outpatient’s clinic, covering referrals from GPs.

Day Hospice offers a friendly relaxed environment where people are encouraged to openly discuss any problems that they may have.
