Forget Me Not Appeal 2026

Event Overview

Help turn Halton purple this June for our annual Forget Me Not Appeal!

The Hospice is hoping that the community will once again ‘turn purple’ for the month and organise fundraising activities to help ensure we can continue to provide the best palliative and end-of-life care to patients and their families, when it truly matters.

From purple hair, wearing purple clothes, completing a sponsored challenge, to purple cakes – everyone taking part will help to make a difference to the lives of people in our community.

Fundraising Manager, Tina Robinson said “The power of our community always amazes me, and I know together, we can help add life to days. From awareness raising acts to big fundraisers, everyone plays a part in helping to support the vital care the Hospice provides every hour of every day, and we can’t wait to see all the creative fundraising ideas this June.”

The Forget Me Not Appeal is a month that may mean something different to different people. For those who have lost a loved one at Halton Haven Hospice we hope this month provides a moment to remember and celebrate someone who holds a place in your heart, while making a difference in their memory. For others, we hope this month raises awareness of the vital work the Hospice does and encourages you to support to help add life to days for those at Halton Haven Hospice. Together, we can raise funds to provide patients and families with the care they deserve.

Go Purple, make a big difference this June. Are you in?

Ways to get involved this June…

No matter how you choose to support, you’re helping to make a difference.

Go Purple

Organise a ‘Go Purple’ day with your friends, colleagues, school, or community group. You may decide to add a donation for going purple that day to raise vital funds. Don’t forget to tag us in your social media posts/stories!

Set up a purple fundraiser

Last year we loved seeing everyone’s creativity in setting up a ‘Purple fundraiser’. Whether you do it as an individual or as a group, pick an activity and help make a difference. Ideas on how you can fundraise can be found in our fundraising packs.

Turn Halton Purple

Help raise awareness by turning Halton purple. Whether it’s wearing a pin badge, talking about the campaign with your friends, putting up our campaign bunting, or sharing our social media posts – every act of support matters.

Remembering a loved one

You may choose to fundraise, wear purple, or donate for a digital dedication in memory of someone you hold in your heart.

For a £5 or more donation, you can place a dedication flower on our Forget Me Not flower wall. Click HERE to view.

Why does my support matter?

Halton Haven Hospice needs to raise 2.5 million a year to provide the care people deserve and they couldn’t do this without the community’s incredible support. Every act of support will go towards providing vital funds to ensure patients and their families receive the best palliative and end-of-life care when it truly matters.

Do you have any fundraising ideas?

Yes, you can find some fundraising ideas in our fundraising pack!

Will the Hospice be going purple?

Halton Haven Hospice will be going purple on 2nd of June, encouraging staff and families to wear purple. We will also be having our very own bake off between staff and volunteers, on the day, to raise funds. You may decide to do your purple day at the same time as us, or pick another date in June.

Do I have to raise money to get involved?

No, any support is appreciated. Although we encourage people to donate and fundraise where they can, we know this is not always an option. Helping to raise awareness can be just as powerful and helps us reach more people in our community. Whether it’s wearing a pin badge, talking about the campaign with your friends, or sharing our social media posts – every act of support matters.

Where can I find Forget Me Not pin badges?

Purple forget me not pin badges will be for sale throughout June at the Hospice, the Halton Haven Hospice shop, Queens Avenue, Widnes, and various other retailers across the area for £2 each.

How will you support my fundraising?

We are here to support you every step of your fundraising journey. You will find a range of resources in your fundraising pack and the team can support you with setting up a JustGiving page and a donation QR code. Email fundraising@haltonhaven.co.uk or call 01928 712 728, to let us know you’re getting involved so we can support you along the way and answer any questions you may have.

Paint, sip, and give back

During Forget Me Not Month we are excited to be holding two Paint, sip, and give back evenings for you to get involved in. These evenings are a great chance to get creative, socialise, and donate to Halton Haven Hospice. ‘Just Illustrate’ will be providing all the materials you need to create a painting masterpiece, with both evenings located at the friendly and welcoming ‘The Woodlands’ pub in Widnes. Upon arrival you will receive a glass of fizz (included in your ticket) and then be shown to your ‘art station’ for the evening where you can paint and have a laugh with your friends (or make new ones), knowing you are helping to make a difference. Food is also available from the venue at an additional cost. To sign up for the evening please fill out the below form and a member of our team will be in touch.
